Quote of the Damn Day: Samuel Clemens

"He is as rotten a human being as can be found anywhere under the flag; he is a shame to the American nation, and no one has helped to send him to the Senate who did not know that his proper place was the penitentiary, with a chain and ball on his legs."

[This could and should also be applied to George W. Bush if one substitutes White House in place of the word Senate.]

Got to disagree with you. While I understand and share your contempt for 'Dubya', this totally and completely describes the foulest human being ever to hold office in America in my lifetime, Dick Cheney.

Dubya was a stooge President. History will look poorly on him for his time in office, but he is more a patsy in my mind. Cheney on the other hand, I believe was the person in the shadows making policy and enabling the forces of finance, oil/energy, and war to take hold and control the government.

Dubya is too stupid to have known what was going on. Like President Harding, he was blind to his own shortcomings which is why he could say things like, 'Nice job, Brownie', during the Katrina crisis and he sat there dumbfounded in a elementary class room as terrorist launched their three pronged attack on New York and Washington, DC.

He was simply too intellecutally and mentally incapable of consciously being 'the worst'. The American people got to suck the pickle and accept that they let an idiot hold office.

Even so, it was the cat behind the curtain, Cheney, that I believe was responsible for most of what happened during those eight years in and what came out of Washington.

Big Mark,
I don't like either of the motherfuckers--to the extent that when they die--I'm having a house party. I'm damn serious. I thought the whole administration should have been charged with treason.

Love you,

SB
