Because I Miss Him

[And also he was purdy.]

I was listening to Jeff's bootleg version of Thin Lizzy's Dancing in the Moonlight on the way in this morning. It blew me away. I think his death, and the way it happened, is a major reason why I don't believe in God. If that could happen to him, with such beauty and such unearthly talent, then none of us can really be worth anything to a creator. We are about as valuable as a smashed insect on a porch.

If you are interested, google Jeff Buckley, for those of you who don't know the back story. I don't have the heart or inclination to tell it here.

My own handsome husband adores him too, he's often listening to his music..he was indeed, very beautiful.

Sadly enough, accidents happen. I believe that the Higher Power does weep for those that are lost in such tragic ways.

Dear SB, I am only familiar with Tim. I feel I've missed something really important and will do my homework. Any recommendations of where to start? Love, Lis

Hey Lis,
Welcome! Great to hear from you. I would recommend Jeff's Grace CD.

Jeff was Tim's son. I assume you knew that.

Thanks for reading me.

Love, SB.

What a strange accident...how terrible. I never have understood how such talented people can have such tragic endings. It does make you question faith at times...and you are right.. He was purdy....

I miss Jeff too. 'Grace' is a wonderful album. To celebrate your post I'm going to spend today driving around my dear old city of Canberra listening to it...

Jeff Buckley was just a beautiful man. His version of "Halleluja" is my favorite. To listen to any of his music is to be transported, indeed. And yeah, he was purdy, too.

I always really liked his father Tim as well. he reinvented himself several times. I think they were both utterly unique singers.

And...your header made me laugh out loud.

Findon,
