I think he's sort of an asshole, but I'm with him on this.
I think Ralph is right. I've pondered this quite a bit, the gap between a classic education, like my Grammy got, and the one my kids are getting, and the techno-evolution of their speaking and writing skills, and I read an article somewhere that said our old school skills are irrelevant in the new world order and that they are going to be just fine. I hope so. I'm making sure mine have a headfull of big ass words, just in case. My daughter's friends thing her vocabulary is awesome, and she cracks them up daily saying normal things in highly articulate ways. Some of her ditzier friends told her they have no idea what she's saying half the time. I couldn't be prouder.
Here's another cranky asshole that I love talking about social media and the devaluation of listening over talking - he says more in one minute than most can say in an hour:
Thanks dear heart, I can only try, right? If only I could proof read my own babble - think, not thing. Oh well. And I totally couldn't figure out the chicken salad reference?? What did I miss?
Mel, The chicken salad reference was in response to another post. For some damn reason blogger was temporarily posting comments on the wrong post. I had several that day.
Love you!
Alexis, You crack me up. We could hang, girl! Laugh.
I am a Gen-X, lazy, manic-depressive bastard, with an eating disorder, OCD, and a propensity for alcoholism. I am basically hell to live with, but I enjoy red wine, Ritalin, reality TV, and disdainful cats. This description could also be useful as a personal ad for a dating service.

And sadly, I doubt there is any turning back at this point.
I'm partial to chicken salad. I would drive 100 miles for a top-of-the-line chicken salad sandwich. But no Wonderbread.
Ms. Moon,
Me neither.
Denny,
Me, too. I love chicken salad. One of my favorite sandwiches. That, and chicken parmesan.

Love that you're out there shaking your fist at this damn world too. xxoo
Thanks for the http, Mel. I'll check it out. I am so glad that you are instilling a good vocabulary in your daughter. You are a good mom.
Love,
SB

Does Ralph Fiennes blame Supercuts for his pubic like beard?

I am with Ms. M on this point, begrudgingly... I am amazed when I am complimented for certain words that I remember reading in jr. high...
