Shit SB Says in an E-mail to Family
Our divorce date got moved up to December 30th. We said we'd take a last minute opening, because we want to get it done and over with. We are riding together to the courthouse. Isn't that civil? Actually, I'm a scattered driver, and Mr. SB is just afraid I will mow over a pedestrian downtown. He might be co-libel until we get that divorce decree behind us.

Can't have you mowing down civilians, SB! How very civilized...
Love you!
Congrats on getting finalized this year! You'll get to start 2010 fresh (after the obligatory too many bottles of wine to celebrate/mourn, and then recovering from it all). And next year will be better.
And will you go for a drink with him afterward to "celebrate?" That sounds extremely civilized to me.
Very civil. Mature. Rare. How many civilians have you mowed down yet?
I bet none.
I'm thinking the next to the last day of the year means a fresh start in 2010. Oh-Ten. Aught-Ten. There is no good thing to call next year. But it is a new year, new beginning, or as my sister and I call it a really quick weight loss problem, getting rid of a whole other person, I hope its as liberating for you as it was for her. Make sure his ass doesn't hit anything on the way there too.
Oh I am sorry you are going through all this not nice.. but great that you are still civil with one another not always easy to do x
My ex and I appeared for the deevorce, then had lunch at the Smithsonian's Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, which had a very lovely restaurant. Of course he used the occasion to zing me a couple of times, verbally, for old times sake. I knew I'd miss that in a perverse way and I have. It was all good.
We'll be here for you to post bail if need be!
(((((((((HUGS FOR SB!)))))))))))
New year, new start.
Dish,
I love you too!
Kathleen,
Thank you, my dear.
Love,
SB
Ms. Moon,
We considered that, but the damn thing is at 9:00 in the morning, so I don't know. I am taking the day off work.
Love, SB.
Mel,
I love what your sister said. Thanks for your good wishes.
Love you,
SB
Wildernesschic,
Thank you. Civil is definitely preferable.
Love, SB.
Glimmer,
I love you. Thanks. It helps to realize I'm not the only one to ever go through this.
SB
PF,
Many thanks!!
Love you.
Ginger,
Yes! Exactly.
Sending love to you,
SB
I'm putting it on my calendar so I can be thinking of you guys that day. I'm glad you're taking the day off work, it would be too surreal to get divorced and then go into work like nothing happened. I adore you, Ms. Bastard. I think clamato and beer is a morning drink, so you don't have to worry about being inappropriate if you decide to have a post-proceedings tipple.
Thanks, May. You are dear to my heart.
Love you so much,
SB.
It will be good to have it done.
I'm a scattered driver too, I feel ya.
Steph,
Yes, love, it will.
Thanks for reading moi.
You and Mr. SB are something. I'm glad that you are civil to each other.
Syd,
Me too. Thank you. It makes it a little less heartbreaking.
It gets better. So much better you won't even believe it.
And that is exactly right re being civil. It does not mean nonchalant, uncaring. It means a decision has been made not to show the hurt.
Until we're good and ready. Then we'll gather up all the dirty laundry and spend all day hanging it on the clothesline. And issue a press release about it! Our terms, right SB!??!!!
Glimmer,
Thanks, your kind words really help.
Yes, our terms. Definitely.
You are loved.
SB
