I remember feeling unhappy aged 8 that our then-home was on a 99-year lease. Even as an eight-year-old that felt too temporary...

I agree but I agree with that statement...when it comes to material things...things that we can most likely always recover!

however..love is my exception to this rule.

And that is how we've got to die, too. I've grown very fond of Murakami. He gives the simple truths in life, put in the simplest terms, which is rather consoling re: modern fiction. From which book is this from?
