I read what your brother had to say for himself and started the Jarman bio but there was too much for me to read via computer - I don't know what it is - that much info I like in paper form. But it was very interesting...I can see why he'd be a mentor of sorts. I wish I could be so blatantly me as well.

This just blew me away -- I first wrote about Derek Jarman's anti-garden at Dungeness about 20 years ago and his queer politics and vision was a huge inspiration to many of us.
The diaries are a testament to a new kind of mystic and sexual revolutionary and an authentic artist.
I love Nick's tributes and the brilliant links.
What a fascinatingly strong person Jarman was, great writing, great blog over there, too.
