DFW is David Foster Wallace. He was likely the greatest writer of his (and my) generation. I have posted a lot on him. He hung himself, after an agonizing battle with depression, over a year ago. Check out the back posts if you want to, by doing a search. Dave is one of my favorite writers.

In the article in Vanity Fair, there is a description of how David kissed his dogs on the mouth and how he loved them. I hate to think of him kissing his dogs goodbye -- heartbreaking pic.
