And also because I don't want him to ever be forgotten. You can kill the messenger, but if the message is just, other people will pick up the dropped torch and carry it on to light the way.
God bless you, Harvey! Thank you. I love you.

Who the hell is this? I think he looks like a lot of fun but is he someone I should know? Or just he's Happy Harvey shown in his natural state of being?
I just found out that the judge, Vaughn Walker, who laid down the verdict is, in fact, gay himself. I bet it felt great to be able to affirm the humanity and rights of gay Americans.
Yea, I second that.
Love ya babe,
pf
Too bad his happiness was cute short.
I am so with you on that.
How beautifully put, too.
Jeannie,
I think you probably should know him. It's Harvey Milk. He's a hero of mine. He was an American politician who became the first openly gay man elected to public office in California, where he won a seat on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. Harvey was not open about his homosexuality and did not participate in civic matters until around the age of 40. Sadly, he was asassinated by a wingnut in 1978.
Sean Penn starred as Harvey in the Oscar-winning film, Milk. It was a pretty good portrayal of Harvey's life and story.
DTG,
I did not know that, as Johnny Carson would have said. That's really terrific.
PF,
Love you. Thanks for reading, babe.
Syd,
Yes, it was a huge tragedy for everyone.
Ms. Moon,
