I'm 45 and this is who I'm turning into.

Norman Thayer, for you damn idiots who haven't got enough brain cells to figure it out. My grandfather was A LOT like him, except he wasn't as cheerful or nice.

If you haven't watched On Golden Pond, you ought to. You might learn something. But I doubt it.

The saddest, saddest movie. You know, Jack and Jan fell in love playing opposite each other in a stage production of On Golden Pond. And on my- doesn't someone I love have a birthday coming up VERY SOON?!

I didn't know that about Jack and Jan. COOL.

The line "what good are dwarves if they don't do chores?" is oft quoted in my extended family.

When I was a kid I vowed, when I was old, I would sit on my porch in a rocker and swear at all the little kids. If they played tricks, I'd grab them up, haul them into my dungeon of a house and feed them milk and cookies. And halloween would be amazing at my house with the best treats.

I might still swear at the little bastards.

IS SB going to be celebrating a BIRTHDAY??!

I loved that film. But now I can't remember what it was about. I might be approaching senility from the wrong end.

Steph,
Great line! Love you.

Jeannie,
I STILL wish we were neighbours.

Ali,
Watch it again, babe. It never gets old.

Love to some of my favorite broads,

SB

Happy Birthday my dear friend!

I wish you'd come to London then Mrs Jones, Ruth and I could take you out. We should get Vix down too, she's brilliant.

As usual with my senile old granny memory I have no recollection of On Golden Pond. I shall order a bargain bucket copy on Amazon.

Love you very much xx

I love you anyway you old poop!

My favorite part of that movie is when Norman is having the conversation with the daughter's boyfriend about sleeping together and Norman asks; "Do you want the room where I first violated her mother?" My ass laughs aloud every time!

I'm 45 but so far haven't turned into Henry Fonda, but I did look at a floral muumuu & did not laugh hysterically like I usually do....maybe it is coming, at least the female version of. ~Mary

Mary,
I'm sure you could carry off a muumuu in grand style, darling. You'd be a damn trend-setter.

Love you lots,

SB

It was a sad movie. Kate and Henry were pretty powerful.
